Getty House (Phinda Zuka House) – Phinda Private Game Reserve, South Africa
Chris, while still the Creative Director at andBeyond, worked very closely with the owners on the original interior design to create this much-loved family retreat. Spaces had to be comfortable and family friendly. The hero of the guest areas are the reclaimed sandstone walls which came from a demolished Free State farmhouse. Pale pinks and muted tones complimented the sandstone and gave the house a feeling of understated luxury.
The house opened in 2005, but since then the owners have added a spa and made numerous additions to the home themselves.
