We aimed to channel her irrepressible joie de vivre into a new hotel style that has not yet been seen on the Mauritian hotel scene.
THE BRIEF
A beloved Mauritian hotel with just 16 beach side rooms, La Maison d'ete has a vibrant, eclectic aesthetic. NEWMARK HOTELS tasked Fox Browne Creative with breathing new life into the hotel to create a refreshed, modernised new look.
The brief was to retain the hotel's spirit but give it a fresh dynamic, playful and mildly eccentric look with new interiors.
THE INSPIRATION
The hotel's previous owner was a colourful, flamboyant character. We aimed to channel her irrepressible joie de vivre into a new hotel style that has not yet been seen on the Mauritian hotel scene. Inspired by historic and homely Mauritian plantation homesteads, we reworked all 16 rooms, bathrooms, and the main guest area to give them a fresh take on beachside living.
THE RESULT
The original guest areas, comprising the welcome sitting room, games room, coffee bar, restaurant, and terrace, will retain the homely, eclectic feel that La Maison was well loved for, but with a new chic, vibrant beach elegance.
The new look ensures that Guests have the most comfortable stay, with an extra layer of luxury and charm to add to a memorable beach stay.
