MORUKURU FAMILY – MADIKWE PRIVATE GAME RESERVE, SOUTH AFRICA
We took our inspiration from the famous Painted Dogs of the area, Tswana basket weave and the dense forest.
THE BRIEF
Fox Browne Creative was briefed to give two of the family owned and run private villas that were built over 15 years ago at Morokuru Family Lodge a refreshed and an updated look. Taking the brief directly from the owners, it was important that the houses retain the feel of private family homes.
THE INSPIRATION
Set amidst the enormous Tamboti trees on a dry riverbed, in a private concession in the South East corner of the 75000-hectare Madikwe Private Game Reserve, we took our inspiration from the famous Painted Dogs of the area, Tswana basket weave and the dense forest.
THE RESULT
The result is an updated and refreshed look with a contemporary, light-hearted feel as well as a strong sense of place.
